Heading West to Montreal

When we quietly walked into the Quebec Ward today and sat down, immediately someone asked if we spoke french and then went to find one of the Elders who then sat by us through the rest of the meeting as our translator. This was definitely a first for us and although the entire meeting was in french, the talks were all beautifully spoken--it didn't matter what they said, the french language is so beautiful to hear. We found many interesting sights on our drive from Quebec to Montreal. We crossed the St. Lawrence River twice and drove through rolling hills dotted with farms, silos, huge fields ready to be plowed, and laundry blowing in the breeze. Montreal is a very large city and it was fun staying right downtown. We especially loved walking around the old town next to the river where we walked the oldest street in Montreal which is lined with shops and art galleries. The architecture of the buildings definitely has that french influence.
