We left New Orleans in a rainstorm and drove through Mississippi where there was a tornado watch. Then on to the Alabama coast which was so beautiful. The beaches are gorgeous with miles and miles of fine white sand, but once again, we could still see much evidence of the devastation caused by Katrina----three years later! This evening we arrived in the beautiful resort town of Destin, Florida right on the Gulf of Mexico. We laughed as we entered Forida, the sunshine state, as it was rainy and cold.
