Florida Keys All the Way to Key West

Attending a small branch in the Marathon Key for Fast and Testimony meeting was probably the highlight of our day. We got slightly lost and had to call the church to get some last minute directions and so we arrived a couple of minutes late only to be greeted by the counselor in the parking lot shaking our hands and leading us into the church. They started the meeting a little late and we think that they actually waited for us. We understood this when we noticed that the congregation consisted of 12 people which included three children. The branch president not only conducted the meeting, but also blessed the Sacrament and then passed it. The spirit in that meeting was so sweet and humble and Craig and I left better people for being there. We then headed south to see the rest of the keys. Even though Craig was worried that we may not have time for the drive to the end I knew he would be so disappointed if he didn't see Key West and the southernmost point of the Keys.

The drive really was spectacular with the azure waters of the Atlantic to the south and Florida Bay to the north and the lush tropical plants and ALL the boats.
We did make it to the very southermost point of the keys and it is only 90 miles from Cuba. It was also fun to see where Highway 1 starts.

Our destination for today was Pompano Beach, Florida at the Wyndham resort. Upon arrival we weren't disappointed and it is the perfect place for a couple of days of R and R.
