We wound up our summer with a trip to attend Kelly Butler's wedding to Erik Woolman in San Clemente, California. It was great to see old friends and neighbors. We stayed in Oceanside and enjoyed the harbor and the beach there.
Since David and Grace were not able to make it to Bear Lake this summer, we made a trip to New York to spend some time with them. We stayed right in Time Square at the Marriott Marquis Hotel and felt really spoiled. We had an amazing time--spent Grace's birthday with her, attended a Clay Aiken concert, had lots of wonderful dinners out, experienced Coney Island and had a hot dog, of course, walked to Central Park, and just spent lots of fun times with Grace and David.
The very best part of our summer was probably when the whole family (minus Alex, David, and Grace) were at the cabin together for a weekend. Our family is the best!!!! I love them all so much and it was wonderful having them all in one place at the same time.
It was fun spending a day at the lake with Mike and Pam Underwood and Brooke and her very busy little guy, Blake. After all these years, it was great to finally have them see where we disappear to every summer.

We had a great time with Chris and Julie Jacobsen at the lake for the weekend.

The summer of fun and travel is winding down, but what a wonderful summer it has been---full of lots of family time and visits with dear friends. The summer began with a reunion of BYU roommates, Tracy and Liz along with Tracy's sister Carla. It was a short but ever so sweet, full of lots of talk and sharing and just catching up. Shortly after their visit, we packed up our house, which was a HUGE job and drove to Clovis to hear Alex speak before leaving for his mission to Brazil. Then we were off to Bear Lake where we spent most of the rest of the summer. Sunny days, special visits from friends, lots of family time with our children Bruce, Eric, Heidi, Tiffany, and Heather and their wonderful spouses and our adorable grandchildren, trips for milkshakes and fries and fry sauce at Le Beau's, golfing, especially wonderful with Heather, swimming, boat rides, and lots of fabulous food served in grand style on the famous cabin porch, movies in Montpelier, trips to Logan, walks up Fish Haven Canyon, smores around the fire pit, etc., etc. What a summer!!!!!!
